A pilot research study commissioned by East West Detox has been completed employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with a group of 65 long-term substance users (drugs and/or alcohol) who were voluntary candidates for the Thamkrabok Monastery treatment programme in Thailand. A discussion paper has been published in various journals to open up the audience to professionals and policy makers for comment on the methodology and to explore and develop a research tool to measure an alternative holistic approach to addiction.
